MOTIVATION

A leading manufacturer of aluminium parts for the automotive industry has decided to implement production planning software at its plant. This should save time and reduce the laboriousness of the current excel-based planning method, which is primarily based on the know-how of the planners. Logio was asked to provide independent expertise on whether the selected planning module suited the customer’s needs and whether the customer was sufficiently prepared for its implementation.

SOLUTION

Based on the mapping and analysis of the planning, we identified gaps in the current process. We then examined whether the solution selected by the customer meets its needs and eliminates the identified problems. Thanks to our experience in Process Intelligence, we also supplemented the SW implementation schedule with the missing areas to avoid potential risks and delays in the actual implementation. This included, for example, the definition of the workflow of the new production and maintenance planning process for production equipment, Data Master Management or a detailed SW roll-out plan.

CONCLUSION

Our cooperation in the pre-implementation analysis contributed not only to  verify the suitability of the selected solution, but also to a smooth implementation and to maintain planning know-how.
