MOTIVATION

Pars nova a.s. is a member of the Škoda Transportation Group and plays a significant role in the domestic market in the field of repair, production and modernisation of rail vehicles. Logio was asked to provide independent expertise in the area of spare parts management to identify areas with the potential to streamline management and reduce spare parts inventory.

SOLUTION

Based on the analysis of historical data, we used inventory management software to segment the spare parts and propose steps to optimize them. Through the analysis, we identified dead stock, duplicate items, suspect items and developed a strategic action plan to achieve potential savings. The project also included an evaluation of the quality of Master Data Management (MDM).

 

 

CONCLUSION

45% of the spare parts were evaluated as potential dead stock. In addition to the project outputs, the customer also received a modern proactive BI tool with which they can further work and analyze their data.
