The growth of the new model complexity and increasing flexibility were the main motivational factors for designing a new automatic warehouse for smaller components (AKL) in Volkswagen Slovakia, a.s. The warehouse was added to an external one which had insufficient capacity. Thanks to our know-how in automation we managed to uphold not only business care, but turn the whole design plan into reality.
installation and testing of the automatic technology
Within the technology selection process we were responsible for the preparation of the technical assignment, tender leadership and the recommendation of an optimal supplier. We managed to successfully tour the client through the planning process to installation and testing of the automatic technology, to the commissioning itself. All that in accordance with the planned time and budget.
The final warehouse has an extent of 170 thousand KLT, and the used technology is made of the 88 shuttle and elevator system. The system managed by sophisticated software allows the creation of a difficult KLT sequence in consistency with the production logistics parameters. A 1 320 KLT is dispatched every hour in the exact desired sequence. In comparison with similar technologies, another plus of this one is a way more ecological flow.
