“The cooperation with Logio was not just one of many IT projects. By working together to find solutions for Albert, we also took the opportunity to rethink our processes and work habits. I believe that together we have made Albert stronger and even more efficient.”

Jesper Lauridsen

CEO, Albert Czech Republic

Sometimes, big changes are born from a simple decision. A decision of one company to work with another. A decision to be equals, to be partners. The story of Albert and Logio is exactly this kind of story. The journey was not easy, but everyone who walked it came out stronger. Everything was possible because of only one thing: a great vision and the courage to realize it.

Looking for a Partner

Albert is among the retail chains that motivate customers to eat healthily. Quality, freshness, and a rich selection are their priorities. Likewise, they constantly strive to innovate and improve their customers' experience.

In 2017, they decided to take a big step. They approached Logio with a vision to co‑create something that did not yet exist. It was meant to be a platform for the automated management and optimization of inventory across all products. Both parties then developed this platform for Albert's more than 300 stores across the Czech Republic.

It would seem like a story from a book. A small, dynamic company with big ideas gets picked up by one of the biggest players. And it actually succeeded. Both partners proved that it is possible to be decent, fair, and intelligent in business. If the project is called "a story of partnership and courage", it has every right to be.

The system of ONE TRUTH is something that is still quite lacking, not only in retail but actually in all companies. Albert Czech Republic now has this system, and the entire company is managed according to this single truth.

Oto Hausmann

CEO, Logio

What does this change for the customer? When you walk into one of those stores, you will recognize it immediately through three things. Firstly, all the shelves are fully stocked. No gaps. Secondly, the prices are fairer because goods are not being accumulated unnecessarily. And thirdly, the goods are fresher because their rotation is automatically optimized.

A Complex System

What companies usually do not realize is that only a handful of corporations in the world possess such a complex solution. Logio is one of them.

Proof of this is the recognition from Gartner—a company that the whole world listens to. It is Gartner that regularly ranks Logio among the top providers of such systems on a global level.

A Demanding Test

Every proper story has its twist. The biggest one came at the worst possible time: right in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic. As you can imagine, pandemics and accurate forecasting do not go well together.

The system had to predict customer behavior that changed every single day. Scenarios had to be calculated for millions of product combinations. And the team had to work remotely, in digital isolation.

Yet, everyone succeeded. If ever a massive test arrived, this was it. It was necessary to calculate forecasts for millions of products while achieving high accuracy. However, the system's algorithms managed all these fluctuations and turbulences.

A Happy End?

It might look like a happy end, but it isn't. It is rather a beginning.

Albert now has a platform on which it can layer more and more modules. Modules for better prediction. Modules for order automation. Modules for intelligent price management. And many other things that will keep pushing the company forward.

And the biggest bonus of all? Everything runs on a single data foundation. After years of testing, everything is tried, compatible, and stable. The next steps will be less strenuous.

And now you probably understand what the impact of that cooperation was. It is more than just a project. It is a story written by everyone together. A story that has forever changed Czech retail. Perhaps even the global one. Because when people with a vision and the courage to realize it come together, everything is possible.

Supply Chain Project Delivery: From Business Case to Go‑Live

Most warehouse automation projects don't fail because the technology was wrong. They fail because no one owned the gap between the consultant's last slide and the warehouse floor's first shift.
