MOTIVATION
According to the UN, up to a third of all food produced in the world is wasted, with bad economic and environmental consequences. Since 2013, Zachraň jídlo (Save the Food) has been looking for ways not to waste food. It does so through many different activities, from awareness raising, education, scavenging in the fields, using so-called “ugly” vegetables, to changes in outdated legislative regulations, to donating the food itself and ready meals. Logio was invited to the project “Donating food saves the climate” as an expert guarantor for the area of distribution strategy.

SOLUTION
The aim of Save the Food was to create a comprehensive interpretation of the rules and clear guidance for donation. The document Donating ready meals – An analysis of the current situation is an important first step towards simplifying the whole process of donating food and making the most of the energy and money invested in its preparation. Logio covered the distribution strategy at the beginning of the project using a proprietary tool – distribution scenario modeling software.
CONCLUSION
In our software, it was necessary to simulate 198 different scenarios on a model example to finally select the 3 best options. For these, we always highlighted their advantages but also their possible risks. These options were then used as a basis for selecting the most efficient crane setup. The proposed model is reusable and very flexible even with various changes in the assignment, so we can use it without limitations, and with an almost infinite number of variables.
