Confident choice of planning software
Logio carried out a pre‑implementation analysis of a new production planning module for Strojmetal’s aluminium forging plant.

Outcome
The analysis confirmed that the selected planning solution matched real planning needs and process requirements, so the client could proceed with implementation on a solid basis.
About Strojmetal Aluminium Forging a.s.
Strojmetal Aluminium Forging a.s. is a Czech manufacturer of forged aluminium chassis parts and industrial solutions for leading automotive brands worldwide, headquartered in Kamenice near Prague. It focuses on lightweight forged components that meet demanding strength and durability requirements and is part of the MTX Group.
3 production plants in Europe
Exports to 14 countries worldwide
154 robots on 10 automated and robotic forging lines
Initial challenge
The client relied on an Excel‑based production planning method that was time‑consuming, labour‑intensive, and depended heavily on the personal know‑how of a few planners. They wanted to introduce dedicated production planning software but were unsure whether the selected module truly matched their needs and whether the organisation was ready to implement it.

Project goal
Logio’s task was to provide independent expertise to verify that the chosen planning module suited the customer’s processes and requirements, and to ensure the client was sufficiently prepared for its implementation, with a clear plan that reduced risks and safeguarded existing planning know‑how.

Solution
Making production planning implementation risk‑ready
Logio combined process mapping, system assessment, and implementation planning to test the fit of the chosen planning module and to prepare Strojmetal for a smooth roll‑out.

Solutions implemented
Replenishment & Allocation Management
Demand Forecasting & Inventory Optimization

Impact
Confident production planning implementation, lower risk, preserved expertise
Verified fit of the planning solution
Independent analysis confirmed that the selected production planning module aligned with Strojmetal’s real process and data requirements.
Lower implementation risk and fewer delays
A completed and structured implementation schedule, including previously missing activities, reduced the risk of project delays and unforeseen issues during roll‑out.
Preserved critical planner know‑how
By capturing and embedding existing planner expertise into mapped processes and new workflows, the project helped prevent the loss of key knowledge when moving away from Excel.
Clear workflows for production and maintenance planning
Defined workflows for the new production and maintenance planning processes clarified responsibilities and supported future system use and continuous improvement.
