Clear blueprint for EAM implementation
Logio partnered with Škoda Transportation as a strategic advisor for a pre implementation analysis of a new enterprise asset management (EAM) system.

Outcome
The project mapped all key maintenance and service processes and translated them into functional requirements, giving Škoda Transportation a structured blueprint for EAM implementation across the company.
About Škoda Transportation
Škoda Transportation, part of Škoda Group, is a Czech engineering company that designs and manufactures vehicles for public transport, including trams, electric multiple units, locomotives, trolleybuses and buses. It is headquartered in Plzeň and supplies rail and urban mobility vehicles to customers worldwide, with a strong focus on the European market. In 2023, Škoda Group reported revenues of CZK 34.4 billion and around 5,900 employees.

Initial challenge
Škoda Transportation wanted to take a major step in the digitalization of maintenance by introducing a new enterprise asset management (EAM) system. The company needed to understand and standardise its maintenance processes before implementation to ensure that the new system would support all service activities.

Project goal
The goal was to perform a pre implementation analysis that would map all key service and maintenance processes and translate them into clear functional requirements and process maps. These outputs would guide the selection and implementation of the new EAM and support efficient maintenance management across the organisation.

Solution
Designing a future ready maintenance blueprint
Logio combined maintenance know how and IT experience to analyse Škoda Transportation’s service operations, document current and target processes and define what the new EAM must deliver.

Solutions implemented
Technology Sourcing & Selection
Maintenance Strategy & Planning
System Specification & Vendor Readiness
Information Systems Evaluation
Process Optimization

Impact
A solid foundation for digital maintenance management
Clear view of maintenance processes
Škoda Transportation now has a structured overview of preventive, diagnostic, predictive and corrective maintenance processes across its fleets.
EAM requirements defined in detail
The list of functional requirements ensures that the selected EAM system will support real maintenance needs rather than generic functionality.
Process maps aligned with systems
Process maps explicitly show which information system supports each step, enabling better integration and fewer gaps during implementation.
Better readiness for system change
The company is better prepared for the upcoming EAM implementation and can manage it with lower risk and clearer responsibilities.
More efficient maintenance workflows
The redesigned and clarified processes help Škoda Transportation move toward more efficient maintenance planning, execution and reporting.

Cooperation with Logio was very effective. We were able to quickly move from analyzing and structuring processes to their detailed specification. In doing so, we managed to take into account a number of specifics without which the maintenance of railway vehicles would be unimaginable today. Thanks to this, we are able to submit specific realistic requirements to the EAM system implementer before starting the actual implementation analysis.
Prepare your maintenance organisation for EAM
If you are planning to implement or replace an enterprise asset management system, we can help you map your maintenance processes, define system requirements and reduce implementation risk. Let us talk about how a structured pre implementation analysis can support your digital maintenance journey.
We tackled many supply chain challenges
Automated small‑parts warehouse for Škoda Auto
Logio designed and implemented an automated small‑parts warehouse for Škoda Auto in Kvasiny, replacing 42 manual workplaces and saving CZK 26 million per year while automating the flow from suppliers to the assembly line.

CZK 26 million in annual savings
12 rack stackers and 4 robotic arms in one automated system
Spare parts optimization for Pars nova
Pars nova gained a clear view of its spare parts portfolio, identified dead stock and duplicates, and received a BI tool to sustain improvement.
45 % of spare parts evaluated as potential dead stock
