Schneider Electric is a global leader in the electrotechnical industry and it focuses on the sustainability of the Supply Chain. That’s also why the company regularly receives the “Best Global Sustainable Supply Chain Organization” award. Sustainability was therefore the key word of our cooperation, too. When the companys’ distribution center for Central and Eastern Europe was reaching its capacity limits, we were invited to check the potential benefit of a robotic warehouse system AutoStore, and to evaluate the feasibility of the logistic concept with an expected growth to the year 2030.
demand forecast
new logistic concept
Firstly, the mapping of the current processes, including the specifics of the customer was necessary. Based on an advanced data analysis we conducted a demand forecast in the horizon of 10 years forward to a needed daily flow of the future warehouse. With such information, we designed a new logistic concept using the Autostore technology, we analyzed the risks and checked the feasibility.
Our study is a key entrance for the strategic decisions on future development of the distribution center of the company. Such development can allow the company to keep growing and continue practicing a sustainable Supply Chain.
