3PL & contract logistics
Balanced workload across the DC
Logio analyzed last season’s pick heatmaps and flow to redesign slotting and introduce active wave management ahead of Black Friday.

Outcome
The plan prevents overload at any workstation, evens out throughput across zones, and uses capacity and labor efficiently.

Initial challenge
A Czech DHL Supply Chain distribution center was overloaded in the previous Black Friday season. The site faced delivery delays, higher picking errors, and customer dissatisfaction.

Project goal
Prepare the site for the next peak. Balance workload across workstations, increase flow through the warehouse, and use capacity and resources effectively.

Solution
Smarter flow for stable peaks
Logio combined historical pick heatmaps and operational data with SKU categorization and expected peak flow to redesign slotting and implement active wave management.

Solutions implemented
Production & Automation Design
Process Mapping & Analysis
Capacity Planning

Impact
Peak‑season ready operations without adding headcount.
Even workload across zones
Active wave control levels work and reduces bottlenecks.
Shorter travel paths for pickers
Re‑slotting reduces zig‑zag movement and empty walking.
Make your warehouse peak‑ready
If your DC strains during promotions or Black Friday, we can rebalance flow, redesign slotting, and stabilize waves. Let’s talk about a data‑driven plan for your next peak.
