That’s why they approached Logio in 2017 to work together on a software platform to automatically manage and optimize promotional and non-promotional merchandise inventory and ordering. This now helps this retail leader manage more than 300 stores across the country.
It might all seem like a story from a book. A small, energetic company with lots of ideas and a strong vision is chosen by one of the absolute world leaders in its field. And it turns out that it works. That even in the world of business one can be a wise, fair and decent partner. That is why the project is rightly described as a “story of partnership and courage”.
Most companies in the world do not have a system that is so sophisticatedly interconnected. It is therefore a unique link between the commercial world and the logistics world. Change in any periphery is reflected in all parts, everyone knows about it and can react optimally. So what can the end customer enjoy? When you go shopping in a Logio-managed store, you’ll notice the availability of goods (i.e. full shelves), fairer prices and fresher goods. And let’s face it, that’s what we go to stores for, right?

It wouldn’t be the right story if there weren’t some twists and turns. The most significant one was probably that the main delivery took place during the coronavirus era, and as you can guess, pandemics and prediction don’t go well together. But we managed to work through that together. However, it’s hard to imagine a more challenging test – after all, counting forecasts for millions of combinations is a challenge in itself – but the system withstands all these fluctuations decently thanks to clever algorithms.
It might seem like a happy ending, but don’t be fooled – it is happy, but there is no ending. On the contrary! Albert has one platform where he can afford to add more and more optimization modules that will take him even further. And the biggest bonus? Everything runs on one data and there has been a lot of testing over the years, so everything is tested, compatible and so the next steps will be less demanding. Albert and the whole team have done a tremendous amount of work, and it’s now coming to fruition.
And so you can see that the pen that every member of the team has received is really well deserved. Of course, it’s not about the pencil itself, but about the story we wrote together that has changed Czech and maybe even world retail forever.
